Simpson Parents Split

“Papa Joe” with his daughters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s mother Tina has officially filed for divorce from her husband Joe, according to Entertainment Tonight. The couple has been married 34 years, and “Papa Joe” is the Simpson daughters’ manager. The divorce statement claims that is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Joe and Tina have listed the family’s California estate for $4.3 million, according to

As the news of the split broke, rumors also spread that the divorce is due to Joe coming out of the closet to his family. A source supposedly stated that he already has a much younger boyfriend. The Simpsons have already denied the allegations, which seem false. Last month, Joe Simpson pleaded not guilty to DUI charges after being arrested in Los Angeles.Being parents of a celebrity would be tough, but it would be even harder when both of your daughters are celebs and you’re their manager. It’s always sad to see a marriage end after this many years, but we hope the family stays strong throughout this hard time and any fake rumors aren’t spread any further.

Dennis Quaid’s Wife Files for Separation

Kimberly Buffington-Quaid has filed for separation, TMZ is reporting. She is asking for joint legal and sole physical custody of her and Dennis Quaid‘s 4-year-old twins. She reportedly also wants spousal support and attorney’s fees. Kimberly also filed for divorce in March but withdrew her petition 2 months later.

A source told TMZ that she is fed up with Dennis’ cheating and has hit her breaking point. The couple has been married for eight years, and they’ve certainly been through a lot. The twins almost died shortly after birth because they were given a massive overdose of a drug at the hospital.

So why is Kimberly filing for separation and not divorce? We’ve seen many couples in Los Angeles and Orange County move to California and ask us to help with their divorce. Here’s the catch: there’s a 6-month residency requirement in California before someone can file for divorce, and the couple moved to California this summer. So she has to wait it out a few more months before pulling the trigger. Separation is reportedly just a formality for Kimberly, and she will definitely be filing for divorce once she’s legally able to in California.

This is Dennis Quaid’s third marriage, and certainly not the first time he has allegedly been unfaithful.

Country Star Sara Evans Offers Divorce Advice

Usually celebrities are running from the media when it comes to their personal lives, especially if they’re divorcing. Many Hollywood stars would much rather not talk about their experience with divorce, but country music star Sara Evans is offering advice to anyone battling through a divorce. She and her husband Jay Barker are now happily married, but she endured a public and bitter divorce in 2006 from her former husband Craig Schelske, an aspiring politician.

The ‘Anywhere’ singer said that she feels extreme empathy for anyone struggling through a divorce because she knows how painful it can be. Her advice is simple: “Just stay calm, take things one day at a time, and not look too far ahead. Eventually it’s going to be okay. Surround yourself with people who love you.”

She also shared that blending her three children with Barker’s four kids has made a very happy, successful family dynamic. Evans states that it works because she and Barker are both of even-keeled low temperament.

Evans says that Barker’s kids fight with one another and her kids fight with each other, but there isn’t a lot of crossover yet. While they claim to be strict parents, Evans believes she can relate to what her kids are going through in this blended family dynamic because her parents divorced when she was a child as well. It seems evident that the children are happy because they constantly beg Evans and Barker to have another child, which they’re considering.

It’s great that a music icon like Sara Evans isn’t afraid to talk about her past and present to use those experiences and her platform as a celebrity to help others struggling through divorce or living in a blended family.

Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman Split

After 30 years of marriage, Danny DeVito, 67, and Rhea Perlman, 64, announced their split yesterday, Entertainment Tonight reported. Radar Online states that the couple hasn’t been happy for almost a decade, and that Perlman wants a divorce because of DeVito’s wandering eyes.

DeVito is being accused in the media of being a “womanizer”, using his celebrity status to flirt with young, aspiring actresses. The Matilda actors have three children together- Lucy Chet, Grace Fan and Jacob Daniel.  It’s sad to see a relationship end after decades of marriage, but who knows what went on behind closed doors. People often criticize celebrity marriages for not lasting. However, as of this year, more than 75% of California marriages end in divorce. There aren’t enough celebrity marriages to skew that number significantly, so in theory, as many Orange County marriages are ending as Los Angeles/Hollywood marriages. Celebrities get a bad rep for their high divorce percentage (even though it isn’t higher than the rest of California marriages) and because their breakups are always in the spotlight.

Bow Wow Fails to Disclose TV Gig in Child Support Case

Shad ‘Bow Wow’ Moss has been ordered to pay child support to Joie Chavis for their one-year-old daughter Shai. But, TMZ reports that he withheld critical financial information from the judge. Last Monday Bow Wow agreed to pay $3,000 a month in child support, claiming that his monthly income before taxes is only $4,000. He testified to leasing a Jeep and said he only has $1,500 in his checking account.

However, after the hearing concluded BET named Bow Wow host of its long-running and influential hip hop show, “106 & Park.” The judge will question Bow Wow when the court rules on a permanent child support order in December. The judge also ordered Bow Wow to pay $11,500 in back child support.

Bow Wow’s new BET gig may significantly alter his child support payments. A person’s duty to disclose changes in his or her financial status that may affect child support terminates once a final order is entered.

Do you think Bow Wow was lying about his income, was it a coincidence, or was his new job announcement planned at just the right time?
