Dennis Rodman Divorce (Which Lasted Seven Times Longer Than His Marriage) Finally Ends (Almost!)

After an eight-year-long divorce that almost became a sport unto itself, former NBA star and Basketball Hall of Fame player Dennis Rodman, 50, and wife of only one year Michelle Rodman signed papers to end their marriage. Baller Rodman, however, continues to dispute ex wife Michelle’s claim to $800,000 in child support.

Dennis Rodman in Los Angeles.

Dennis and Michelle Rodman were married in 2003 when the five-time NBA champion (on his 42nd birthday). Less than a year later, Michelle had filed for divorce. The couple tried to reconcile, but then Michelle formally filed papers again this year “to clarify their relationship to their shared son and daughter,” so reports TMZ in a statement from Michelle’s attorney Mary Ann Noiroux.

In court, Rodman recently claimed he could not afford a $5,000 monthly payment for both children (one of which is his stepchild) as well as $4,500 in spousal support. Rodman said in court that he was “extremely sick” and “broke.”

Perhaps Rodman can put more money on Michelle’s table soon as he reportedly signed on to coach NYC-based Headquarters Gentlemen’s Club’s topless women’s basketball team.

Worried about money, co-parenting and divorce? A qualified family law lawyer can help through mess and stress of spousal support, child support and custody.

“The best way to deal with all the stresses of spousal support, child support and child custody as well as your children’s emotional health  is to set up a divorce team that includes a reputable divorce lawyer, a family therapist and a financial planner,” says family law lawyer-to-the-stars Aaron Dishon of Irvine, Calif.-based Dishon & Block Divorce Attorneys.

Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan Pays Up Big in Divorce

Dog trainer extraordinaire and TV star Cesar Milan has been dogged out by his now ex wife, Ilusion. She barked loudly when she filed for divorce in 2010 after 16 years of marriage. But only now are the financial details in this rather public divorce are hitting the sidewalk.

Cesar Millan in Pasadena. His wife of 16 years, Ilusion, filed for divorce in 2010 and barked loudly for the big bucks in their now finalized divorce settlement.

TMZ recently reported Mrs. Millan will receive an initial pay off of $400,000 plus $23,000 and $10,000 in spousal and child support (for their two kids), respectively. The filing shows Cesar fetches a whopping $170,000 a month income.

In addition, TMZ reports that the famous “Dog Whisperer” paid up big so he could get the jump on confidentiality. Yep, TMZ surmises that the couple’s lawyers were talking about potential sex tapes when the papers included a clause about the privacy of any “photograph, film, videotape, recording … which is not commercially available.”

In a joint statement, the now divorced singles say they “remain caring friends and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys.”

Worried about keeping private matters private in a divorce? Consider hiring a qualified lawyer who is also an expert at arbitration (also called mediation). In arbitration, the divorce never goes on public record as disagreements are settled with a formally-trained arbitrator (usually a retired judge).

Auf Wiedersehen! Seal Files for Divorce from Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum and Seal at 52nd Annual Grammy Awards

Soul 2 Singer Seal, 49, has filed divorce papers just as soon-to-be-ex-wife super model and Project Runway executive producer Heidi Klum, 38, filed divorce papers last week, so says E! News. The documents also show Seal has requested joint custody of the super star couple’s four kids (Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2).

The couple had announced their separation in January to their shocked fans who thought the couple was happy, especially as Klum and Seal renewed their vows in an annual renewal ceremony.

The couple announced last week in a joint statement released by Klum’s publicist that the couple has gone through a “soul searching” period, yet they still have “the deepest respect for one another” although they have “grown apart.”

Both Klum and Seal have admitted in several interviews since January that the separation been easy on the kids. “I’m a lioness,” says Klum in the Elle interview. “I have four cubs. I’m a mom. I want to take care of my kids and protect them. I don’t want to talk about them, or him, or me.”

As for Seal, he says the children come first too. “We talk to them, we tried to explain, as best we could, what is going on,” he said in an interview on Access Hollywood Live.

“And the main thing is to make sure that they feel that they’re loved, make sure that they understand that their parents love each other, make sure that they understand if there are any changes, it is absolutely nothing to do with them,” explained Seal. “And it won’t change the amount of time – and – in actual fact, it may even improve the amount of time that we spend with them – quality time – because it’s not the amount of time, as you know being a family man yourself, it’s the quality of that time.”

Do you feel like a lioness who wants to protect her cubs or a lion who wants to spend quality time with his kids?

“The best way to deal with all the stresses of divorce as well as your children’s emotional health  is to set up a divorce team that includes a reputable divorce lawyer, a family therapist and a financial planner,” says family law lawyer-to-the-stars Aaron Dishon of Irvine, Calif.-based Dishon & Block Divorce Attorneys.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Divorce Gains Steam

Demi Moore

Demi Moore in Los Angeles April 2012

It seems A-list Hollywood actress Demi Moore, 49, and hunky actor hubby Ashton Kutcher, 33, are moving forward with divorce even though rumors are flying fast about Kutcher’s affairs with several women, including a “secret” relationship with sultry singer Rihanna.

Some reports say Demi has refused to sign the divorce papers because she is angry and humiliated over Kutcher’s alleged infidelities that have surfaced first with party girl Sara Leal and now perhaps with “Rude Boy” singer Rihanna.

TMZ has also reported recently that Kutcher has bought a “humble Hollywood Hills home” complete with pool and terrace. Kutcher recently joked about the house on Jimmy Kimmel Live saying that he only bought it because Justin Bieber was interested in the same property.

It has also been reported that Kutcher had visitedMoorein rehab, which she underwent earlier this year for addiction “issues” and possibly an eating disorder. Rumors have been flying all over the internet as to whetherMoore’s addiction problems are related to her marriage breaking down and the resulting divorce stress.

In late January, ABC News reported that the Hollywood power couple was acting in completely different post-divorce modes. Moore ended up in this hospital after what was called a “seizure” and had sought treatment for what her publicist at the time called “stress” and “exhaustion” (and then ended up in aforementioned rehab).

At the same time, Kutcher was inBrazilcelebrating with supermodels at nightclubs.

“Women are the ones who suffer the most when there is a breakup. Men do suffer too, no question. But on balance, women end up suffering emotionally for longer, especially when there have been affairs,” says Judy Kuriansky (also known as Dr. Judy) in an ABCNews.com interview.

Even more disturbing, Moore was interviewed after leaving rehab by Harper’s Bazaar. “I would say what scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable, that I’m not worthy of being loved. That there’s something fundamentally wrong with me,” she said in the Harper’s Bazaar interview.

Oscar-winning film and theatre actress Marsha Gay Harden, who recently landed the lead in NBC’s comedy pilot Isabel, has filed for divorce from her handsome husband of 15 years, actor Thaddaeus Scheel. Harden, 52, and Scheel, 47, met on the set of The Spitfire Grill (1996).

“For the sake of the couple’s three children, Harden would like to request that the family’s privacy be respected at this time,” says Harden’s rep in a statement published in People magazine last month. The couple has three children (7-year old twins Hudson and Julitta Dee and 13-year-old daughter, Eulala).

Harden won a Tony Award in 2009 for God of Carnage and an Academy Award in 2001 for Pollock. She’s also been nominated for another Academy Award, two Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

Mostly a dramatic actress, Harden is trying her hand at comedy by playing a mother who “wrestles with the challenges of everyday life while raising a daughter (Sophia Mitri Schloss from ‘Grimm’) who has magical qualities,” so says Entertainment Weekly about the Isabel pilot.
